Beamrider is one of the most addicting games for the 2600. the enemy behavior changes with each level, and a variety of obstacles are introduced in the form of debris and other interactive enemy constructs. It's right up there in the best of games for this system, like H.E.R.O. (also highly recommended) The cartridge does command too much money, but I was personally willing to overlook that.

One the best shooters, if not one of the best games for the Atari. This is what Tempest could have been on the 2600. You are a space ship trapped on a grid fighting swarms of alien ships. Easy and fun to play. One of the rarer late Activision games. It is also available on the Atari Computers, 5200, and the Intellivision. It is also highly addictive.
I must have for Atari 2600 enthusists.

If you are into shooter-style games this is a MUST HAVE !!! A test of reflexes & coordination because as you progress in the game various items come at you & at faster pace with different effects. Feels like you are flying thru space and these intruders come at you on BEAMS and you must shoot back ON THE BEAM or you won't stand a chance at survival !
i guess you shoot things that come towards you on the beam.i got frustrated cause i kept getting shot.i said to hell with it and turned it off.i think other activisions game would be better to play then this one.if you are really bored check this one out.
